Dear Lime Kiln Middle School families,

This week begins the start of assessments. Please remember that our students need to rest, charge their chromebook, and bring their charger. It is crucial that they attend school on time to reduce missing instruction on a make-up testing date.

We are now in the fourth and final quarter of the school year. Please take a moment to visit Canvas with your student and check their academic progress.

Next week is “Teacher/ Staff Appreciation week” sponsored by our PTA. Thank you to our PTA and volunteers for your acts of kindness and appreciation! We have lots of exciting activities planned by our PTA for the remainder of the school year. Please look for more details in the near future.

Finally, I look forward to seeing our students ROARing (Responsible, Organized, Achieving and Respectful)  through the month of May.

Sincerely,

Tammy Jones

Principal

Motivational Message:

Diversity and kindness are two of the most important values that we should strive for in our lives. In a world where we sometimes feel like we're living in a bubble, it's important to remember that everyone is unique and deserves to be respected.

We all have different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, which makes us unique. By embracing diversity and practicing kindness towards others, we can create an environment and school of understanding and acceptance. This will help us foster or create relationships with our peers from different walks of life, which can lead to more meaningful connections with those around us.

Kindness is also an essential part of any successful relationship and creating a space that is warm and safe. It helps us create strong bonds with those around us by recognizing their efforts and showing compassion when they need it most. We can practice kindness by being patient with our friends and classmates.

By fostering diversity and practicing kindness in our daily lives, we can make the world a better place for everyone. Let's create a school where we celebrate each other's kindness, understanding and compassion for other students and the adults in our building. Be motivated

2023 - 24 Bus Transportation:

FAMILIES WHO NEED TRANSPORTATION FOR NEXT YEAR MUST DO THIS

Families Must Register by June 1 for 2023-2024 Bus Service

Español | 中文 | 한국어

Per Board of Education Policy 5200 Student Transportation, families whose students are eligible for bus transportation are required to register through HCPSS Connect Synergy to receive bus service for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. This new registration process will take place annually to help the HCPSS Office of Student Transportation plan for more accurate student ridership and to make routes more efficient. Registration for 2023-2024 bus service is open now through June 1.

Please note, families who reside in non-transportation areas are not eligible for bus transportation and do not need to take any action. Find the new non-transportation areas for your school online. Additionally, students who receive transportation as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan do not need to register.

Register Now

Families who need assistance with the registration process should reach out to their child’s school.

Bus routes for the 2023-2024 school year, along with specific school start times, will be finalized in August, prior to the start of school. More information is available online

News from the Health Room

Effective the first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year, 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) are required by the state of Maryland for all students entering grade 7. Many students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record. Please contact your student’s doctor and send in an updated copy of your student’s immunizations to the Health Room or schedule an appointment to have your student receive these immunizations. The Health Department provides immunization opportunities for kids who are not up-to-date on school-required vaccinations. Call the Health Department at 410-313-7500 for more information and to schedule a vaccination appointment for your child.

If you have further questions, please email Kassandra Wanless, LKMS School Nurse, at kassandra_wanless@hcpss.org.
