Dear Lime Kiln Community,

Since the beginning of the school year,  Ms. Horozczak  and I have been delivering motivational messages to our students every Wednesday via the morning announcements. These messages focus on fostering positive peer interactions, building a strong school community, and promoting values such as compassion, empathy, diversity, commonality, and overall student well-being.

We believe in the importance of promoting  these values with our students, and we wanted to keep you informed. Starting this week, these messages will also be featured in our community newsletter, allowing you to stay updated on the themes we are emphasizing in school.

Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing these positive messages at home. Together, we can create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all our students.

Warm regards,

Tammy Jones

Principal

Motivational Message Wednesday, November 1, 2023

I wanted to take a moment to remind us all of the profound impact kindness can have, especially in the face of the challenges our world often presents. In a few weeks, we will be celebrating Kindness Week, and I encourage each and every one of you to participate wholeheartedly.

Kindness is not just a virtue; it is a powerful force for change. In a world where turmoil, violence, and unkind treatment seem all too common, we have the opportunity to be the difference. Let's make the conscious choice to treat our peers with kindness and compassion, and let's actively work on embracing others with open hearts.

The beauty of kindness lies in its ability to not only uplift others but also enrich our own lives. When we choose kindness, we foster a positive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Moreover, practicing kindness equips us with invaluable skills that can help us navigate even the most challenging situations and deal with difficult people.

Remember, what is right will always prevail in the end. Let's be motivated to be kind, not just by chance, but on purpose.

Quarter 1 Report Cards

Quarter 1 report cards will be available in HCPSS Connect Synergy at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Instructions on how to access report cards are available online.

Panorama Wellbeing Survey for 7th and 8th grade students:

  • As a reminder, the week of November 6-10, we will be asking all students in Grade 7 and 8 to take a brief survey to tell us about their social-emotional skills and access to supportive relationships. A communication was sent home in paper form on 10/25/23 with additional information and the opportunity to opt out. This communication can be accessed through this link: . If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Shannon_Horoszczak@hcpss.org. Make-up sessions will be provided as needed.

COMING the month of December – LKMS' Fifth Annual - "Snow Leopard Winter Break Bonanza"! Back by popular demand!

The PBIS team would like to celebrate all of our students at Lime Kiln and need your help! We are in search of small prizes that could be raffled off to students on December 22nd. Students who are ROARing (being responsible, organized, achieving and respectful) will be receiving raffle tickets in class for the entire month of December for chances to win these prizes.

As you are cleaning out this fall keep a lookout for some trinkets that you could donate to a middle school who would love it!

Some ideas could include: books your child no longer reads, lotions, ear buds, pop sockets, fidgets, small puzzles, coin purses, scarves, accessories, jewelry, fun school supplies, or gift cards, $5-10 (Amazon, Target, Chipotle, McDonalds, Chick-fil-a are favorites)!

Students or parents can drop off your donated items within the front doors of the school near the Front Office anytime from November 6th until December 6th.

Thank you so much for your support, and we know the students will be excited for our special “SNOW LEOPARD WINTER BREAK BONANZA!”
