I began my teaching career at Patuxent Valley Middle teaching Health Education in 1992. In 1999, I was privileged to be a part of the team that opened LKMS where I stayed until 2008 at which time I transitioned to administrator at Oakland Mills Middle, serving as Leadership Intern, then Assistant Principal. In 2016, I was thrilled to return to LKMS as Principal! It is an honor to lead this community of engaged students, dedicated educators and supportive parents.

My name is Lisa Smith and I am excited to be the Assistant Principal of Lime Kiln Middle School!! I am honored to work with the LKMS community. I have been in education as a Teacher, Leadership Intern, and Assistant Principal for the past 24 years. Twenty of those years have been in Howard County Public Schools. With each new journey, my most important role has been to make decisions that are best for student success. I began my journey as an educator in Norfolk, Virginia. There, I taught fifth grade all contents. After deciding to move back to Maryland, I spent one year in Anne Arundel County before joining the Howard County School System. During my time in Howard County, I have worked as an English/Reading teacher at Patuxent Valley Middle School, and as Assistant Principal of Dunloggin Middle School and Hammond Middle School. I am excited to continue this journey in my career at Lime Kiln. I look forward to being a supportive resource to staff, students, families and community members. My goal is to support Mrs. Lublin in her vision for the school, support staff in achieving their goals, and support students to reach their highest potential. Your Partner in Education, Ms. Lisa J. Smith
