I am so happy to be back at Lime Kiln Middle! After working as a Program Coordinator for the American Lung Association of Maryland (promoting school health initiatives) for five years after graduation from Towson State University, I began my teaching career at Patuxent Valley Middle teaching Health Education in 1992. In 1999, I was honored to be a part of the team that opened LKMS, again teaching Health Education, where I stayed until 2008. In 2004, I achieved the distinction of National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. In 2008, I became administrator at Oakland Mills Middle where I first served as Leadership Intern, then Assistant Principal. It is a privilege to return to LKMS to begin my career as Principal! In addition to promoting excellence in teaching and learning for all students, I am a proponent of a strengths-based school culture, where staff and students are able to use their strengths to do what they do best everyday. My top five strengths are: Harmony, Positivity, Achiever, Communication and Responsibility. Most importantly, I believe that together we can achieve the school system's vision of a school where "every student is inspired to learn and empowered to excel!"

I am married with two grown children and two grandchildren. My daughter is an English teacher at Oakland Mills HS and my son works with computers. My two granddaughters attend elementary school. Did you know that I lived in Burundi, Africa when I was a teen? I am an "Army Brat" and have gone to schools all over. I am energized by our shared journey through these wonderful middle school years.  I look forward to another exciting year at Lime Kiln.
