Announcements

Parent - Teacher Conferences: 11/23 - 11/25
Our School will be using an Internet program called Pick-a-Time to schedule parent/teacher conferences.  Parents with Internet access will be able to go on-line to take care of scheduling all their parent/teacher conferences and even print out their schedules, and have an email reminder of their appointments sent to them.  To access this program, please click on the scheduling on the link below. This program is easy to use and can be accessed at your convenience beginning November 13. You will be able to access this program to schedule or cancel appointments until November 19. After that date, please cancel or reschedule appointments by calling 410 -880-5997.  If you cannot access the website, please call our school to schedule your conferences beginning November 13 .

In order to access this program, you will need your child’s Student ID number.  This ID number can be found on the letter sent home November 12. Unfortunately, a student ID number cannot be given over the telephone.

Directions on how to use this program can be found by downloading the file “Parent Directions for using Pick-a-Time.”  A demonstration of Pick-a-Time will be aired on HCPSS TV (Channel 95-Comcast, Channel 42-Verizon) during the November Parent Teacher Connection show. Starting November 7th, it will be aired every Sunday at noon and 10:00pm, every Wednesday at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, and every Saturday at 3:00 pm.

What Parents Can Expect: General Guidelines
1. Teachers will update grades on a regular and timely basis.
2. Grades for tests and projects will be posted within two to three weeks following the due date.  If this guideline will not be met, the teacher will notify students.
3. Major assignment grades (eg., tests, projects, etc.) will be reviewed with students before they are posted.
4. Parents are asked to talk to their student about a grade prior to contacting the classroom teacher.  Parents are also asked to encourage students to advocate for themselves regarding academic grading concerns.
5. Teachers will do their best to respond to emails from parents within two school days.  Please remember that teachers have the responsibility for over 100 students daily and planning time is limited during the school day.
