Back to School Information
- ALL FAMILIES NEED TO UPDATE THEIR FAMILY FILE BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS
- This is important for every family every year. Updating emergency contact information is vital in case ever needed.
- DIRECTIONS:
- 7TH GRADE IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
- The State of Maryland requires all students entering 7th - 12th grade to have the MCV4 and Tdap vaccines before the first day of school. Failure to provide proof of these two vaccines may result in your child being excluded on the first day of school. Most 7th grade students have already received these immunizations. If you have not heard from the health room regarding your student's vaccination status, then your student has the necessary vaccines to meet state compliance and no further action is required on your part. If you have any additional questions, please email the school nurse at kassandra_wanless@hcpss.org Thank you!

- FREE AND REDUCED MEALS PROGRAM / FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
- Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits. Families are encouraged to verify their eligibility and submit a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on Free and Reduced Meals can be found here.
- LOCKERS
- Every student is given a locker to use on the first day of school. Students are expected to use these during the day and this helps eliminate the need to carry all items throughout the day.
