Carson Scholarship Fund Nominee
Congratulation to Brennan Wheeler who has been nominated as Lime Kiln’s nominee for the 2022 Carson Scholarship! A committee of teachers and administrators chose her resume from among a group of students who submitted information on their volunteer work. The scholarship selection is made on the basis of community service as well as scholarship and citizenship. Brennan is partnering with one other student on a Girl Scout Silver award to benefit Lime Kiln and has also participated in a number of other Girl Scout service projects. She has been active in her neighborhood helping younger children during the pandemic. In her capacity as musician, she has been of service to Dayton Oaks Elementary School during their fall festival outdoor music program. Brennan will compete with nominees from many other schools. We will find out in April if Brennan is the recipient of a $1000 scholarship.
From your LKMS Administrators: Student Leaders Wanted!
Student Delegate for the Student Member of the Board
Are you passionate about student leadership? Are you someone who wants to voice your opinions and make a difference? Do you want to be a part of making history? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are the right person to step up for the Student Delegate leadership opportunity.
This year, we are again offering the Student Member Convention. SMOB serves alongside adult members of the Board of Education and advocates for the voice of the students. Your voice is needed!
Each middle and high school will select student delegates to attend the convention. Candidates, who best amplify the voice of the students, will be selected to run for Student Member of the Board of Education.
To apply to be a delegate and represent Lime Kiln, please let Ms. Lublin know you are interested in this leadership opportunity. All interested students must complete an application and ask two teachers to complete an evaluation form as part of the application package. All parts of the application are due January 7, 2022.
Applications are located online through the Student Member of the Board Convention Portal. You can find the portal here. In this portal, you will find a timeline, the requirements for participating, and a link to our school’s application form and teacher evaluation tool. Make sure to check out the SMOB and Student Delegate applications information, and updates that can be found on HCASC’s Instagram and website. Questions? Feel free to contact Ms. Lublin.
