The Leopard's Tale - October 22

Fri, 10/22/2021 - 12:48pm

Dear LKMS Families and Community Members,

Believe it or not, we have completed 8 weeks of this school year as of today.  In just a week and a half we will wrap up our first quarter.  There is much to celebrate...our students and staff are settling in to our "new normal" of in-person learning...wearing their masks, carrying backpacks, and getting into the heart of curriculum and instruction and they are doing a great job!  We know for some students the transition has been more difficult than for others, so please remember that our School Counselors, Mrs. Miles and Mrs. Lucas, are here to support them (and you!).

We are looking forward to our first LKMS Spirit Day, "Crazy Hat Day" on Friday, October 29!  While HCPSS policy does not allow for full costumes or celebrations of Halloween, we are looking forward to seeing our students' creative hats/head gear!  No masks, other than our protective face coverings, are allowed.

On Friday, November 19, we will have our second Spirit Day, "Show your LKMS Spirit!" Students can wear LKMS spirit wear (see the LKMS PTA Website for ordering https://sites.google.com/view/lkms-pta) or school colors (green and gold) or leopard pattern.  Let's show our "Leopard Pride!!"

Finally, please visit the LKMS website and PTA website with information about the upcoming 6th Grade Ice Breaker event on November 3.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Lublin and Mrs. Ketterman
