Health Room News for the 2019/20 School Year
The first day of school is just around the corner. We are ready to welcome students back to school and are looking forward to having a great year!
Health Room Staff:
Mary Stein, BSN RN, mary_stein @hcpss.org
Crystal Calvert, CNA CMT, (Health Assistant), crystal email@example.com
Health Room Phone: 410-880-5916
Health Room Fax: 301-490-4928
Front Office 410-880-5988
The Health Room will be open and ready to receive medications and/or other Physician related orders on the following dates and times:
Monday, August 26 - 12:30-3:00pm
Tuesday, August 27 - 12:30-3:00pm
Thursday, August 29 - 12:00-3:00pm and 4:00-6:30pm
Please bring all supplies during this week as we usually have many parents waiting in line the first day of school. We must verify each medication order and the medication. This can be very time consuming.
If your student is returning to school with a brace, cast, crutches or any medical device, please contact the Health Room via email. In order to keep students safe, we need to be aware of injuries in the building. We will alert staff as needed. Some injuries require evacuation plans to be written by the Nurse. Having these plans done as soon as possible is helpful to all.
Injuries/ Health Conditions Past and Present
If you have an injury currently or had an injury at the end of school last year, you will need to provide the school Nurses with a Doctor's clearance note/release to participate in a physical activity. These forms are available on the HCPSS website, www.hcpss.org. Notes must be given to the Health Room only.
6th Graders and New Students:
Welcome to Lime Kiln. We are excited that you are joining us!
You have a role to play big or small and having you here will make our school even better. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and know when you walk through the doors that you belong here.
Parents of 6th Graders and New Students:
We want to welcome you to Lime Kiln, too. You are needed and important to our school. If you have Health concerns or want to update us on health issues regarding your student, please call us between 8:00am-3:30 pm. You may also email us any time.
Parents, please email the Health Room regarding prolonged illness, any injury that requires Health Room support, and ALL hospitalizations. As a reminder, parents/guardians should only come to pick up a sick student if you have received a call directly from the Health Room. If your student notifies you via telephone or text message, please call us so that we can assess your child's situation before picking up your student.
Enjoy the rest of summer break and be safe. See you soon!
Let’s Go Leopards,
